Film screening and public discussion – Taskafa: Stories of the Street

Join us for a special screening of Taskafa: Stories of the Street, a film by London artist and documentary maker Andrea Luka Zimmerman.

The film is an artist’s essay about memory and the most necessary forms of belonging, both to a place and to history. It explores the relationship between Istanbul’s street dogs and the city’s human populations.

For us, this film raises many important ideas about the right to the city, the value of non-human urban populations, community action/resilience and contested public spaces.

On the night, we will hear from guest speakers and invite discussion on the variety of urban narratives that create cities, neighbourhoods and streets.
